Bespoke Away-Day Retreats

In 2017 the UK Government requested an independent review into how employers can support the mental health of their employees. This led to the release of 'The Stevenson/Farmer review of mental health and employers', which revealed the huge human cost of poor mental health at work. The research uncovered the knock-on impact of this for employers who are ‘losing billions of pounds’ because their employees are ‘less productive, less effective, or off sick’.

The authors of the report recommended:

 Employees:
• have the knowledge, tools and confidence, to understand and look after their own mental health and the mental health of those around them

Employers:
• Are equipped with the awareness and tools to not only address but prevent mental ill- health caused or worsened by work
• Are equipped to support individuals with a mental health condition to thrive, from recruitment and throughout the organisation

Further analysis of case studies by Deloitte evidence that where employers have invested in improving mental health, there has been a consistently positive return in their investment. This finding has also been supported by academic meta analyses.
